Book Tag | Stranger Things

It’s October, spooky and creepy things are lurking in the shadows!

What fitting way to add in the celebration of Halloween? The Stranger Things Book Tag, of course! I have enjoyed the Netflix Original Series and spotted this one from Literary Jen. Here I am.

1 – EPIC INTRO. The opening sequence of Stranger Things is amazing and really grabs your attention. Name a book that grabbed your attention from the first page.

My most recent read foots the bill. A Spark of White Fire by Sangu Mandanna!

A Spark of White Fire (The Celestial Trilogy #1)

“And as the minutes tick down, the pieces move into place.
A usurper king.
A heroic exile.
A jealous prince.
An old warrior.
A cursed mother.
A war goddess.
And a girl.”

Here are Kaya’s 11 Questions:

    1. Dark, milk, or white chocolate?

All of the above? I am a chocolate candy type of person than ice cream. I am up for all of these depending on the mood or availability.

    2.  What’s the prettiest book you own?

I feel so attacked by this question. Stuck in a dilemma of “I can’t pick from my shelves or I can’t answer because I do not own it yet”.

To answer quickly my copies of The Wrath and The Dawn & The Rose and The Dagger recently arrived and they are freaking gorgeous. I now name them my prettiest book I own.

Book Tag | What’s on My Bookshelf

Passed by this tag on Beach Bookworm. I am not tagged but there’s a strong force that says “do it”. Here we are…

Rules:
1. Link back to the original creator, Naty @ Naty’s Bookshelf
2. Also link back to the person who tagged you!
3. Name one book for each category. Try not to repeat books to make this more fun!
4. Tag at least 5 people.

A Library Book

The closest thing I got from a library is a library copy my aunt got me from Auckland. Technically ex-copy now, it was sold there and got me NOS4A by Jon Hill and Stronger Than You Know by Jolene Perry.

Both are copies were like at NZ $1.00 it was a steal. And both are still unread I’m afraid.

Book Tag | Unforgettable Bookish Memories

I spotted this intriguing tag at Aurora Librialis‘. And yes, go stop by there too. Check that blog out!

NO. 1: THE FIRST BOOK YOU EVER READ (OR WAS READ TO YOU)

I was a late bloomer when it comes to reading. I even thought of not overcoming it. I even cried about it. My mom bought lots of book for me to read. That kind of books where words are like one or two syllables in it, you know for starters.

This was my first book. The first I’ve ever read. And I kept it. May it hard to believe, it is still with me. And it is called See Oh, See.

NO. 2: THE FIRST BOOK YOU EVER BOUGHT WITH YOUR OWN MONEY

Nancy Drew: Secret of the Wooden Lady. Y’all, I still remember saving up my money for this and followed by the other volume of this edition.

Leigh Bardugo

AIM
Book that connected you with your best friend.

My great gods and goddesses, I formed a deeper friendship with my best friend through Percy Jackson Books by Rick Riordan! We were such a goof then. I think we still are. Whenever I see her or our other friends we kind of still call ourselves the character names from that series. And still, argue over who’s who.

Book Tag | Bookish Academy Awards

I was tagged to do this by Kate of The Backwards Bookshelf. (Sorry for getting it to do just now.) And give The Backwards Bookshelf some love by checking the blog out!

Best Actor (Best Male Protagonist)

I cannot think of anyone but Nikolai Lantsov from Siege and Storm right now, this guy never left my head since I knew him. Not necessarily the protgonist-protagonist but I just do like him… so, starting the first award drawn from a bias choice.

Book Tag | Sims

Found this tag from Ashley at The Infinite Library.

The Original Sims – the Best Author Debut

The Light in the Wound (The Light in the Wound, #1)

I say this was the best author debut;

An enthralling read about Isabel’s beginning that surely had us all in an emotional turmoil. As the story gets deeper it gets all sorts of seriousness or maturity… Tears had been streaming down my cheeks. A heartfelt story of Isabel’s childhood, teenage years and into adulthood. Finding your first love with the perception of being with them forever and learning to love another. Family issues, being away from her siblings, her parents and the pressure. All of the emotions were raw, I had experienced pain, love, and joy from Isabel as if I was her. Christine Brae did great!

The Grim Reaper – Saddest Character Death

Glass Sword (Red Queen, #2)

Someone from Glass Sword. Victoria Aveyard wrecked me with that one. I really really liked this character from the first book, Red Queen and Continue reading “Book Tag | Sims”
